History

Cindex Industries, Inc. was founded in 1960 as the country’s first exclusive indexable tool repair facility. With the proliferation of CNC technology an opportunity to repair damaged indexable tooling was realized, and through years of experimentation and determination the science of tool repair was established.

The company name is derived from the term SINTERED “to bond together partially without melting” (in this case Tungsten and Cobalt), and INDEXABLE, for the type of tooling being repaired. Originally Cindex Carbide Company, Cindex Industries, Inc. was incorporated in 1962.

Cindex Industries, Inc. experienced tremendous growth throughout the 1970’s and 1980’s and expanded its tool repair services throughout the United States with the creation of several regional service centers. Among the breakthrough services developed and then offered by Cindex was the retanging of twist drills and the introduction of rotary tool repair.

Cindex Industries, Inc. continues to carry on the rich tradition of excellence established by its founder. From its original corporate headquarters in Ludlow, Massachusetts, Cindex maintains the highest standards of customer service and quality workmanship in the industry.

Using time-tested technology and a staff with over 100 years of tool repair experience, Cindex Industries continues to be the premier indexable tool repair company in the world.
